Play this Football MMORPG!!

If you like football, you like browser based MMO style games, try this one out.

Right now I have a level 4 LB named Dan Blake who has 12 tackles in 3 games. He's getting there.....I think he's deflected one pass as well. I'm trying to tweak him to be a pass rusher and let go of the run defense a little bit....we shall see!

Just finished another book

I just finished reading Eric Nylund's wonderful book, "Mortal Coils." It's been added to my list of books that everyone should read.

Lately, I've read a lot of those. Either the world is starting to get full of really great writers, or I've just been getting lucky with my selections lately.

4 authors that are must reads right now are:

Patrick Rothfuss "The Name of the Wind"
--One of the most well written books I've ever had the honor to read. I have suggested this book to everyone, even friends or family that aren't into the fantasy genre, just because I want them to see what good writing is.

Too many popular books nowadays might tell good stories but are so poorly written that you find yourself just skimming pages and powering through to just get the story. With this book, you want to read every word multiple times to get everything you can out of it. Powerful stuff.

Scott Lynch "Lies of Locke Lamora"
--The world and the story are full of color and excitement. The lies, intrigue and manipulation of the all the characters is deep and rich. The uniqueness of the world lends this title to feel very different than others in the fantasy genre, in a very good way. The Gentlemen Bastards will entertain you through and through.

Joe Abercrombie "The Blade Itself"
--Never have I read a book where there truly is no "hero." Every character in Abercrombie's books is just as gray as anyone in real life. No matter how good someone is, they always have a dark side and it shows in this series. There were many moments while reading this book that I had to re-read multiple pages just to make sure I had read correctly the first time, with so many surprises and shocking moments. I can't wait to read his latest book, "Best Served Cold."

Eric Nylund "Mortal Coils" with special mention of "Game of Universe"
--Mortal Coils is a nice, contemporary fantasy that creates a fun game of figuring out which characters represent what from common mythological people. The two children who are central to the story show tremendous growth throughout the tale, and you truly feel like you are growing up with them. There are plenty of plot twists, and the ending really sets up what I think is going to be an excellent series.

If you can find copy of "Game of Universe" anywhere, get it, read it, then read it again. The book is just that great, and all the characters Nylund creates within it's pages are very diverse and a load of fun. I couldn't put the book down once, it became super glued to my hand.

Read all the books above, and you will be better for it, I promise.
